
Brian Scofield is a filmmaker living in Austin, Texas and Los Angeles, California. This is his web site.
Scofield attended the University of Notre Dame, where he studied philosophy and literature in The Program of Liberal Studies and double majored in Film, Television, and Theatre.
Brian returned to his hometown of Austin, Texas in 2003 and began working as a director of photography on several independent films and volunteering for the Austin Film Society. He went on to work as a camera assistant for filmmakers such as James Marsh, Richard Linklater, and Terrence Malick.
Eager to follow his passions and see his own vision realized, Scofield founded Over-Soul Films in 2005. His films have played in major film festivals around the world and won a number of awards.
Brian returned to school in 2008 and recently completed his MFA at the University of Southern California, where he concentrated in editing and directing. His student work includes editing the short film IN CAPTIVITY (Student Emmy for Best Comedy), writing and producing the web series JEFF AND RAVI FAIL HISTORY for Subway, MyDamnChannel and IFC, and directing the short film BLACKBIRD (nominated for a Student Academy Award).
He is currently developing his first feature WHENEVER YOU'RE READY and working in the editing department with director Terrence Malick.
