YOUTH WITHOUT YOUTH

Francis Ford Coppola returns to directing with this self-financed, very artsy film.  I saw an interview with lead actor Tim Roth not long ago about the film's production and I'm looking forward to seeing it when it's released.  I'm quite fascinated by the level of detail on the film's web site: the director's statement, the history of the story, its themes, the philosophies that inform them, etc.  It's not often you get such a personal insight into a director's intentions or process before a film is even released.  You can tell that it's a very personal project and that the director wants those who to see it to both understand and respect that fact.  Not to compare myself with such an esteemed director, but the personal nature of the film and its content reminded me of my own relationship with SWERVE.
