BACKROADS festival submissions, etc.
Mark and I sent BACKROADS off to SXSW and AFI Dallas film festivals on Thursday. The film is just about finished and we feel very good about the version we have to send off. We still have some tweaks we want to do to color and sound, and we're looking for the perfect song for the closing credits. But all of that is small and the need is mostly neurosis-induced by yours truly.
Soon we'll begin showing the film to a few trusted friends to try and evaluate whether we want to make any small changes before we declare the film "festival and premiere ready." If you're interested in being one of those few to take a look at the film, send me an email.
Thanks to everyone who has put up with me (especially David, Mark, and Chris) over the past week, as I know I'm not always fun to be around when we're in the final phases of locking a film down. After so much work, I just want everything to be perfect. Often having stared at a film for long makes it difficult to tell what perfect even is.
More soon!
