So easily they come to us: universal truths, life's secrets, a proper way of seeing things. While we stand in the shower and watch water slip down the drain, when awakening from slumber, in the presence of a friend; at a grand speech by the intellectually revered, in a few words of prose, or in the journey of a character in a film. As we leave the dark theater and enter back into the sunlit world, so too does the abundance of human experience dilute the hold of those answers. The promise of new direction loses its foothold, our mind falls back to its old habits, and we are left as we were before: aimlessly wandering.
